ASUS is the first motherboard manufacturer to begin offering a BIOS update to address instability issues with Intel’s newer processors. Reports regarding stability issues for Intel’s 13th and 14th Gen Core processors have been growing for over a year now and users have anxiously awaited a preventative fix. Intel is continuing to investigate the matter but has identified voltage settings as the main culprit and for the last couple of months said it would be releasing the new microcode to address it.
It is encouraging that ASUS is the first motherboard manufacturer to begin releasing new microcode following its statement yesterday that it too would honor an extended warranty for affected processors, something that not all manufacturers may choose to do. The new Beta BIOS 2503/1503 update is currently only available to select ROG MAXIMUS/STRIX/PROART/AYW Z790 Series motherboards which can be found here. Below is the current list of supported models with corresponding BIOS versions.
