Resident Evil 9, a new mainline installment of Capcom’s leading survival horror video game series that will succeed the most recent entry, 2021’s Resident Evil Village with Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield, is launching in the second half of 2025 and will serve as the franchise’s “most ambitious” game yet, according to new rumors that have been shared on a popular Discord channel. Complementing the rumor is an announcement from GOG about how Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the 1999 installment that stars Jill Valentine and takes place almost concurrently with the events of RE2, is officially re-releasing on the DRM-free platform for PC players on September 25.
