Final Fantasy VII Remake will not be making its original release date. Square Enix announced today that the heavily anticipated action RPG has pushed back to April 10, 2020. That’s only a month later than the publisher’s initial window (March 3), but PlayStation gamers will definitely have to update their calendars.

According to the development team, FFVII Remake was pushed back strictly for quality purposes. The delay will let producer Yoshinori Kitase and the rest of his crew “deliver a game that is in-line” with Square Enix’s vision. He thanks fans for their patience and continued support.

Crystal Dynamics also has disappointing news for Marvel fans who were expecting to play its new Avengers title in May. The action-adventure game has been postponed to September 4, 2020 for fine tuning and polishing. Despite this “difficult decision,” studio co-heads Scot Amos and Ron Rosenberg are promising that Avengers will not only deliver an engaging campaign and co-op mode, but also compelling content “for years to come.”
