The Nintendo Switch 2, a sequel to the 2017 hybrid video game console that has been described by some of Nintendo’s critics as being one of the company’s worst-kept secrets ever, may be released as early as April 2025, according to a new financial report from Nacon that teases “the arrival” of the new system within the first half of the company’s 2025/2026 fiscal year, a period of time that would comprise April to September 2025.
“In 2024/25, given the postponement of some previously announced games together with delays launching several Accessories products at the end of the year, NACON now expects a slight increase in sales, while operating income could show a decrease compared with the previous financial year,” reads a portion of Nacon’s outlook for the fourth quarter before going on to note several positive factors for the first half of 2025/2026, including what’s said to be “the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 console.”
“NACON already has a compatible games and a full range of accessories [for Nintendo’s latest system],” the company continues, noting that “sales are expected to show strong growth in the first half of 2025/26.”
“For more details on Nintendo Switch 2, please tune in for the ‘Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 – 4.2.2025,’ which will air on Wednesday, April 2,” reads a portion of Nintendo’s Switch 2 announcement from January 16, which can confirm the console will be released in 2025.
