Despite Valve not offering any new updates regarding pricing or availability, three lucky individuals have a chance to win one in a new contest. The Steam Machine made quite a splash a few months back when Valve announced it, along with several other new products, and the two most commonly asked questions are how much and when it will arrive. Meanwhile, popular game trainer site, Cheat Happens, is offering a “Steam Super Bundle” which includes a Steam Machine, Steam Deck OLED, and Steam Controller. All in all, a pretty sweet prize for those wanting a mobile and home, gaming setup.

“We are awarding three (3) lucky winners with a STEAM MACHINE, STEAM DECK AND STEAM CONTROLLER (or PayPal cash). Available worldwide. No purchase necessary.
Winners to be announced on FEB 16-18. Prize must be claimed within 10 days of announcement of winners (by Feb 28, 2026). Contact chris@cheathappens.com to claim.”

Cheat Happens regularly holds giveaways, more or less monthly, where the prizes are often hard-to-get high-end PC parts, such as an RTX 5090, so it’s interesting that it would choose this particular hardware, but then demand for the Steam Machine is expected to be high. It would also suggest that the site has managed to either procure three units already or perhaps has them lined up via its own channels.
The two big questions remain, though, when and how much. Valve has left many wondering if the pricetag will be too much, and given the current memory chip supply shortage and price increases, it’s becoming increasingly doubtful if it can even offer the lower-end model with 512 GB of storage at under $800. Regarding when Valve launches the Steam Machine, it could be soon, given that it is being offered as a prize in this contest (although it’s noted how CH included “or PayPal cash,” which could be in the event it’s unable to procure them). On the other hand, Valve did state it would launch in 2026, so there’s still hope.
