Rayman Legends ran on a Wii U. Its remake needs an RTX 4080 to hit 60 fps at 4K, and it isn’t even rendering native 4K to get there.
Ubisoft published the official PC system requirements for Rayman Legends Retold on September 22. Every tier targets 60 fps, and every tier assumes upscaling set to Quality. All four need an SSD with 33GB free and DirectX 12, and all RAM figures specify dual-channel mode.
Minimum (1080p / Low / FSR or XeSS Quality): Windows 10, Core i3-8100 or Ryzen 3 3100, 8GB RAM, GTX 1660 6GB, RX 5500 XT 4GB or Arc A580.
Recommended (1080p / High / DLSS, FSR or XeSS Quality): Windows 11, Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, RTX 2060 Super 8GB, RX 5700 8GB or Arc A750.
Recommended 2K (1440p / High): Same CPUs and RAM, RTX 3070 8GB, RX 6750 XT 12GB or Intel Arc “B850” 12GB, as Ubisoft lists it.
Recommended 4K (2160p / Ultra / DLSS or FSR Quality): Core i5-9400 or Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, RTX 4080 16GB or RX 7900 XTX 24GB. No Intel GPU is listed at this tier (Ed: Let’s pour one out for big Battlemage).
Intel Arc owners also need Resizable BAR enabled. The CPU requirements barely move across the tiers, which tells you where the rendering load lives.
The game is listed on Steam at $39.99 for a December 3 release, and the standard edition bundles Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.
Upscaling as the default assumption keeps showing up in spec sheets. We saw it when EA quietly removed “Native” from Star Wars Zero Company’s PC specs. And for a sense of scale, Gears of War: E-Day’s requirements start at an RTX 2060 for a far heavier-looking game.
The 1080p and 1440p tiers are reasonable, and most readers with a GPU from the last five years are fine. The 4K Ultra tier is the eyebrow-raiser. The jump from an RTX 3070 at upscaled 1440p to an RTX 4080 at upscaled 4K suggests the Ultra preset is carrying some expensive effects. Given that the game is also coming to Switch 2, dropping one preset notch at 4K will probably cost very little visually.
