CD Projekt Red called a previous update the last one, and Night City keeps not getting the memo.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 Update, version 2.5, went live October 22 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, timed to Season 2 of the Netflix anime. CDPR’s patch notes are headlined by the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree. It lets V dual-wield Power-category pistols and revolvers for the first time.

The rest of the list is bigger than a tie-in patch has any right to be:

  • Clampdown: A new side quest set before Edgerunners 2, unlocked by finishing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako. It rewards a five-piece gear set based on the character King.
  • HKGN 102.0 FM: A new radio station with tracks from the anime.
  • More side content: An additional quest featuring Night City founder Richard Night, plus an extension of Fool on the Hill with new tarot cards.
  • Glamdocs: Shops where you can reskin Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System.
  • Cross-platform mods: Mod support on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Quality of life: A field-of-view slider on consoles, and saves grouped by playthrough.

For PC players, the technical changes matter most. NVIDIA’s October 21 roundup confirms 2.5 upgrades the entire DLSS suite to DLSS 4.5. That includes Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, with Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Super Resolution moving to NVIDIA’s second-generation AI models. GeForce 621.01 is the matching Game Ready driver. CDPR also lists ray tracing performance improvements. Radeon owners should note that AMD’s current driver documents a known crash in Cyberpunk under a specific combination of FSR, Anti-Lag, frame generation, and video on a second display.

Cyberpunk remains one of the best stress tests on PC, which is why it keeps showing up in our CPU work, including our Zen 4 vs Zen 5 X3D gaming comparison. It also arrives days after CDPR said the Cyberpunk live-action film will tell its own story, so the brand is clearly getting a full-court press this fall.

The quietly significant change is cross-platform mods. Bringing a curated mod pipeline to consoles is a big deal for a single-player RPG this old. It also suggests CDPR sees a long tail ahead rather than a final curtain.

If your Night City save is gathering dust, this is the excuse. A Switch 2 version is slated to follow shortly.
