Intel could be prepping a cheaper 10-core processor for those who think the Core i9-10900K is too expensive. Multiple entries for a “Core i9-10850K” have appeared on GeekBench (via APISAK), which allude to a lower-cost variant with a slightly lower maximum boost clock: 5.2 GHz, just 100 MHz lower than the current flagship (the i9-10900K can hit 5.3 GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost).

As you might imagine, the benchmarks suggest that this variant will perform quite similarly to the i9-10900K. It’s unclear how much cheaper the Core i9-10850K will be compared to the reigning SKU, which has an MSRP of $488, but this appears to be Intel’s way of selling chips that fall just under flagship prerequisites.
