Software engineer Patrick Schur has shared a series of engine clocks for what is purportedly an ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT. There were two power configurations tested (a 255-watt and 289-watt model), and the results appear to be equally spectacular in both.
In a group of 3DMark 11 tests, the 289-watt ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 6800 XT managed to hit clocks of up to 2,291 on average, with max clocks going as high as 2,556 MHz. That’s a huge improvement over the Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition, which only boosts to 1,980.

[3DMark11]
System 1
Avg: 2291 MHz
Median: 2373 MHz
Max: 2556 MHz
System 2
Avg: 2289 MHz
Median: 2301 MHz
Max: 2394MHz
System 3
Avg: 2092 MHz
Median: 2320 MHz
Max: 2489 MHz
TGP: 289 W

Here are some more details about System 1. You can see that the clock was more than 85 % of the time ≥ 2300 MHz.

≥ 2500 MHz (10.28 %)
2400 ≤ x < 2500 MHz (24.46 %)
2300 ≤ x < 2400 MHz (50.49 %)
2200 ≤ x < 2300 MHz (3.64 %)
2100 ≤ x < 2200 MHz (1.38 %)
< 2100 MHz (9.75 %)
The results for the 255-watt variant are similarly impressive, with one test showing average, median, and max clocks of 2,298 MHz, 2,357 MHz, and 2,509 MHz, respectively. On another system, the card even managed to boost up to 2,557 MHz.
Here are some results with a TGP of 255 W. Don't ask me what's the difference between 255 W and 289 W models.

Probably more OC headroom and more stable boost clocks? 🤔
System 2
Avg: 2298 MHz
Median: 2357 MHz
Max: 2509 MHz
System 3
Avg: 1993 MHz
Median: 2342 MHz
Max: 2557 MHz
As Igor Wallossek warned in a previous article, the TGP values listed by Schur may not reflect how much power these GPUs actually crave (estimations would put their TBP, or total power usage, above 300 watts), but these clocks hint at some very impressive gains over the previous generation of Radeon RX 5000 Series cards.
With the purported performance of the Radeon RX 6800 XT being this high, we’re very curious about what the flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT can do.
