There was a point in time in which enthusiasts thought they’d never see prices of graphics cards come anywhere near MSRP ever again, but the latest data from 3DCenter.org, a publication that has been diligently tracking the pricing of AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards at major German retailers, indicates a solid trend toward sensible pricing.
As shown in 3D Center’s latest price trend graph for the week ending February 13, average pricing for both NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series and AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards have been dipping steadily since mid-December, with GeForce and Radeon GPUs now sitting at 57% and 45% above their MSRPs, respectively.
While those percentages aren’t too exciting, it’s worth noting that pricing for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards have not been this cheap since August, nor have AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, which haven’t seen these sorts of prices since January last year.

- Clear price reductions can be seen across the board compared to the last recording time, which can quickly be as much as 100 euros for the larger models.
- On average, the price exaggeration compared to the list price for AMD’s RDNA2 cards fell from +63% above list price to now +45%, for nVidia’s Ampere cards from previously +77% above list price to now +57% (calculated compared to the US List price taking into account the current exchange rate and German VAT).
- This results in an average of 19 percentage points, which the price exaggeration has decreased within just three weeks.
