NVIDIA’s next flagship graphics cards will definitely require more substantial cooling solutions, according to the latest claims by leaker kopite7kimi, who took to Twitter today and stated that NVIDIA has opted to develop a four-slot, triple-fan cooler for the reference board of the AD102, the Ada-based GPU that will be powering the GeForce RTX 4090 and other future flagship models of the GeForce RTX 40 Series. The development is notable in that NVIDIA has never used a triple-fan cooling solution for its reference models. It also adds an additional level of credibility to ongoing rumors of flagship GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards drawing significantly more power than its predecessors. Additionally, kopite7kimi admitted today that he was wrong about their July launch, agreeing with Wccftech’s recent report of the GeForce RTX 4090 not releasing until October. The GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4070 will follow in November and December, respectively, with a GeForce RTX 4060 unveil set for CES 2023, it’s claimed.
At least, they designed a triple-fan cooler for reference board of AD102. https://t.co/vQb2KnpE4y

Thank you, I agree with WCCF now. Disappointing.

It’s sounding a lot like many custom models that we saw for the RTX 3090 Ti that feature triple-fans & a 3-4 slot design. Most of these designs are air-cooled and while there are some AIO & Hybrid cards, NVIDIA is unlikely to go the liquid cooling route unless the TGP crosses far beyond 600W.
Such may be the case with the RTX 4090 Ti which is expected to be amongst the fastest AD102 GPU if we don’t take into consideration that there might be a Titan-class graphics card too. It should also be pointed out that this cooler is only for the reference board design and not the Founders Edition board.
