ASUS has updated its power supply catalog with the ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition Series, a new series of ATX 3.0 power supplies that feature 16-pin PCIe support, improved cooling, and Aura Sync RGB to provide stable, efficient, cool, and quiet power alongside flash for next-gen systems:
Like its predecessor, the ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition series—available in 750W, 850W, 1000W, and 1200W variants–stand apart from competing power supplies thanks to a larger heatsink for cool, quiet operation. With twice the volume of traditional PSU heatsinks, this design allows for lower temperatures, longer component lifespan, and longer 0dB operation under light and medium loads. However, with the ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition, we went even further: the entire power supply is now encased in a sleek aluminum chassis that acts as its own heatsink, further reducing temperatures and minimizing noise.
All this heat dissipation is aided by our 135mm Axial-tech fan design, featuring a dual ball bearing for long-term operation and longer fan blades to improve airflow. It also shares the same 80 Plus Gold certification as its predecessor, with efficient, low-ESR Japanese capacitors rated to last up to twice as long as standard caps.
ASUS goes on to reiterate that its ROG Strix Aura Edition PSUs feature the new 16-pin power connector, making them suitable for newer graphics cards such as NVIDIA’s flagship Lovelace GPU for gamers:
Arguably the biggest upgrade, however, is the new 16-pin power connector for modern graphics cards. While previous power supplies required an adapter for use with certain modern GPUs, the ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition power supplies are bundled with a native 16-pin PCIe cable that can pipe up to 600W of clean, stable power directly to your ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 or TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 — no adapter required.
These PSUs are backed by a 10-year limited warranty, although their RGB LEDs are subject only to a 3-year warranty.

These manufacturers keep advertising these ATX 3.0 power supplies, but they are nowhere to be found to purchase. Some have been advertising for months.
I think we lucked out with ours. I noticed a couple of days after I got mine that they sold out and just checked, and they still are.
Beeing in Europe where noone buys new GPU's seems to have some advantages in this case as there are some in stock, they are not cheap though.

Seasonic's Vertex series ATX 3.0 power supplies are supposed to become available mid-December according to their press release.

I will advise this. If you want a high end power supply from Microcenter order it online from your store for pickup. They do NOT put them on the shelves. And many of the people on the floor sales area simply don't know that they are in the back.
Reminds of the times I used to see a movie in stock at the local BB online and drove down there and had to wait for them to find it in the back. These days though I just order for P/U or delivery. I'm through with those games. I wish we had a Micro here. It's like living in the dark ages with our local BB when it comes to modern tech. Pretty sure I can find GTX 750 if it's needed. sigh.
I do this for everything. Unless I lived down the street from the store that had it, I wouldn't chance it. I'd honestly pay a little extra for the service if they asked.
Definitely we did. I think I was one of the first ones to buy the FSP unit, and they sure didn't last long from there as word got out.
