Last week it was announced that the PS5 would be getting a new haptic controller. Well Blu-Ray.com has announced something also exciting. Evidently Sony will at last be including a 4k Blu-Ray Disc Player. Specifically they mention it will be capable of playing back 100GB discs.

I think many around the world will share the same sentiment in saying it’s about time. Someone probably realized how much of the market they lost out on when the roles were reversed between Microsoft and Sony when Sony didn’t include one with the PS4 and Microsoft did with X-Box. It was a strange call considering the precedence’s that Sony had made with the PS2’s DVD player and then the PS3’s blu-ray player. Perhaps it was because the PS4 used a mirror trick for 4k instead of native 4k?

Well the console wars seem to be back on for the next generation and honestly things are looking a bit exciting. Are you thinking about getting one in the next round?

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
