Ghost Recon Breakpoint
In Ghost Recon Breakpoint we set the game to the “Ultra” preset for the built-in benchmark. Now, this is not the highest setting the game supports. In fact, there is a higher “Ultimate” setting above “Ultra.” However, this game reported that we were running way over our 6GB VRAM limit trying to run at “Ultimate” and indeed the benchmark was very choppy. Going down to “Ultra” settings still said we were slightly over the 6GB VRAM limit, but it ran smoother and actually turned in good performance so that is what we are showing you above.
The XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT THICC II Pro average 66FPS and was playable at “Ultra” settings, but not the “Ultimate” settings in this game. Oddly though, this seems to be on the very low-end of performance compared to the rest of the cards. The GeForce RTX 2060 surprisingly performed 17% better than the XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT THICC II Pro. In fact, even the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti was faster by 3%.
It is odd that even the GTX 1660 Ti was faster and the Radeon RX 5600 XT so slow here. It could be up to driver optimizations, perhaps the Radeon GPUs are not well optimized for this game. The reason we say that is because the Radeon RX 5700 was only 4% faster than the GeForce RTX 2060 when it should be much much faster. So, this is just one of those games that proves the point that performance is going to vary depending on the game and how well optimized it is.
