Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2 we are running at 1080p with custom “High” settings. These are not the highest game settings the game supports. This is basically one step down from the highest settings, which are not playable on the Radeon RX 5600 XT. At “High” settings the game is playable on the Radeon RX 5600 XT.
You can see here there is quite a bit of difference between the AMD Radeon RX 580 and XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT THICC II Pro. The XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT is 30% faster than the Radeon RX 580. That’s a decent step up in performance. The Radeon RX 580 is not playable at these game settings, but the Radeon RX 5600 is. To make the Radeon RX 580 playable you’d have to drop to at least “Medium” settings across the board.
Since we have downclocked the Radeon RX 580 from a factory overclock, you can extrapolate what its performance would be if it did have that MSI factory overclock. The factory overclock would make it about 5-6% faster in this game, you have to keep in mind the overclock is a very small one on that video card. So even if it were 5% faster, the XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT would still be about 25% faster at these higher settings. The factory overclock on the Radeon RX 580 would not allow it to be playable at “High” settings, which the Radeon RX 5600 XT is.
