Valve’s VR headset has been sold out since the beginning of the year, but the Index is finally being restocked – and just in time for Half-Life: Alyx’s debut on March 23, 2020.

The company tweeted earlier today that Valve Index VR kits would be available once again for purchase on Monday, March 9th. Those who don’t want to miss out will probably want to set their clocks for 10 AM PDT (5 PM UTC), which is the exact time that they’ll be available on Steam.

Half-Life: Alyx is compatible with any SteamVR-compatible system (e.g., HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus Rift, and Oculus Quest with PC and Link Cable), but Valve is – not surprisingly – advertising its own Index headset as the ideal way to play. It features dual 1440 x 1600 LCDs, a 130-degree FOV, and frame rates of up to 144 Hz.

The Valve Index is available as a VR Kit that includes the headset, controllers, two base stations, and a copy of Half-Life: Alyx for $999. Those who already have base stations can spring for the $749 package, which includes just the headset and controllers. The headset can also be purchased alone for $499, while a set of controllers and the base station costs $279 and $149, respectively.
