As part of today’s special Inside Xbox episode, Microsoft revealed the first footage of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and other beautiful games running on the Xbox Series X. There has been a bit of controversy as to whether the videos below constitute “gameplay,” but they do give a general idea of what next-gen games will look like.

“We’re also happy to share that all of the games included in today’s show will be Xbox Series X Optimized, meaning they are built to take advantage of the powerful Xbox Series X features that make games look and feel incredible, including 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second, DirectStorage, hardware-accelerated DirectX raytracing, super-fast load times and much more,” wrote Xbox Wire’s Editor in Chief, Will Tuttle. “Putting the power of the console in the hands of developers to decide what’s best for their games is one of our core beliefs and we’re excited for this first look at how they are choosing to leverage the Xbox Series X.”

Tuttle also pointed out that many of these titles (denoted by an asterisk) will support Smart Delivery, a feature that ensures Xbox users are playing the best available version of a game. “For example, this means if you purchase the Xbox One version of a supported title, we will identify and deliver the best version of it to your Xbox One, as usual,” Tuttle explained. “If you decide to jump into the next generation with Xbox Series X, we will automatically provide the Xbox Series X optimized version of the game at no additional cost if and when it becomes available.”
