Ray Tracing and DLSS Overclocked RTX 3060 Ti FE Performance
On this page, we will look at Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS performance at 1080p and 1440p. First, we will see how turning on just Ray Tracing compares at 1080p. Then, at 1440p we will turn on both Ray Tracing and DLSS to see how performance compares. The “OVERCLOCKED GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE” video card is overclocked at 2052MHz GPU and 15.5GHz memory. All other cards are at default configuration. We are using in-game benchmarks where possible.
Watch Dogs Legion 1080p Ray Tracing
In Watch Dogs at 1080p we have the “Ultra” preset enabled plus “Ultra” Ray Tracing enabled. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE improves performance by 8%. This helps make the game more playable with full Ray Tracing at 1080p. It’s not 60FPS, but it is more playable than 49FPS average before the overclock. It’s also 13% faster than GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE.
Watch Dogs Legion 1440p Ray Tracing DLSS
At 1440p here we also have “Ultra” settings enabled plus “Ultra” Ray Tracing. However we have now also enabled “Quality” DLSS. This helps boost performance and with the overclock makes 1440p playable with Ray Tracing. The overclock has improved performance by 6% and made the game more playable. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE it is 14% faster.
Control 1080p Ray Tracing
In Control we have enabled the “High” Ray Tracing quality, which is the highest at 1080p. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE has improved performance by 4%. The game is very playable at 1080p with full Ray Tracing. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE the overclock on the RTX 3060 Ti FE is 19% faster.
Control 1440p Ray Tracing DLSS
Now in Control at 1440p we have enabled both “High” Ray Tracing and DLSS. DLSS really improves performance, with similar image quality, and the overclock adds 4% more performance. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE that is 17% faster.
Wolfenstein Youngblood 1080p Ray Tracing
In Wolfenstein Y0ungblood at 1080p with Ray Tracing turned on the overclocked GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE is 6% faster. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE it is 20% faster, the highest so far.
Wolfenstein Youngblood 1440p Ray Tracing
At 1440p in Wolfenstein Youngblood we have enabled Ray Tracing. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE has improved performance by 7%. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE that is 18% faster.
Metro Exodus 1080p Ray Tracing
In Metro Exodus we have enabled Ultra Ray Tracing at 1080p with Extreme Quality. This is where extra performance is really needed. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE has improved performance by 5%. This helps a bit, but ultimately we need more performance at 1080p with Ray Tracing. This is where DLSS comes in, it does make 1080p with Ray Tracing playable.
Metro Exodus 1440p Ray Tracing DLSS
At 1440p in Metro Exodus with Ultra Ray Tracing and DLSS performance is not very playable, even with the overclock. This game is just that demanding. 1080p with Ray Tracing and DLSS is playable though. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti improves performance by 5%.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1080p Ray Tracing
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p with Ray Tracing this game is very playable. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE improves performance by 9% which is quite a big boost in performance.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1440p Ray Tracing DLSS
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p with Ray Tracing and DLSS the game is also very playable. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE improves performance by 8%. Compared to the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE it is 10% faster.
