Cyberpunk 2077 Overclocked RTX 3060 Ti FE Performance
We were able to squeeze in a little bit of Cyberpunk 2077 performance into our overclocking review today. We just managed to look at performance under the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition for this review as the game was launched just days before publishing this review. We will have more comprehensive performance testing in the game on our website in the future.
For Cyberpunk 2077 we stuck with the “Quick Preset” slider settings to globally set options for our testing here. This game does not have a built-in benchmark, therefore we did a manual run-through driving through the open world at night.
1080p “Ultra” Settings
First up is the game running at the Quick Preset option of “Ultra” at 1080p. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE averages 75.7FPS Overclocking it adds 4% more performance at this resolution to average 79FPS.
1080p “Ray Tracing: Ultra” Setting
Now at 1080p we have bumped up the Quick Preset option to the highest value which is “Ray Tracing: Ultra” setting. This does enable the three Ray Tracing options, but it keeps Ray Tracing lighting at “Ultra.” It also keeps DLSS on “Auto” which is a big part of why performance remains high. In the graph you can see performance is 64FPS on average. Overclocking improves performance by 5% and averages 67.2FPS.
1440p “Ultra” Settings
At 1440p using the “Ultra” Quick Preset option performance averages 49.2FPS. When we overclock, it improves performance by 6% and the game is more playable.
1440p “Ray Tracing: Ultra” Setting
At “Ray Tracing: Ultra” Quick Preset performance is actually higher than “Ultra” settings. This shows that DLSS is being used to keep performance higher. At this preset the option is on “Auto” by default so that it does end up being used if needed. Overclocking improves performance by 7% and the game is very playable, much closer to 60FPS with Ray Tracing: Ultra enabled.
DLSS seems to be the key here for allowing higher performance with Ray Tracing. We will be doing more comprehensive testing in the future using customized settings, for now, these are the built-in “Quick Preset” options.
