4K AMD Rage Mode Performance
Now we are going to increase to 4K resolution and test on the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT reference sampled card by AMD. Perhaps this will be a bit more GPU dependent, where 1440p can be CPU dependent at times on these faster video cards. We will use in-game benchmarks where possible, when not we use a manual run-through. Ray Tracing will be on a separate page.
Cyberpunk 2077

In Cyberpunk 2077 we are using the 1.04 patch at time of testing, this was before 1.05 patch was released. It wouldn’t make a difference though in terms of RAGE MODE. Where we saw the same performance at 1440p, we see a slightly better performance at 4K with RAGE MODE. There is a 2% performance advantage using RAGE MODE. It’s not really enough to make a gameplay experience difference, but we can detect the small uplift in a run-through.
Watch Dogs Legion

In Watch Dogs Legion at 4K performance is identical between RAGE MODE and default performance.
Horizon Zero Dawn

In Horizon Zero Dawn there is a 1FPS difference using RAGE MODE versus default performance at 4K.
Red Dead Redemption 2

In Red Dead Redemption 2 there is a less than 1FPS difference with RAGE MODE versus default performance at 4K.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint

We also see a 1FPS difference with RAGE MODE in Ghost Recon Breakpoint at 4K.
Control

Similar to 1440p, at 4K Control shows the “biggest” difference. RAGE MODE is 3% faster than default performance, so that is actually the best result.
Wolfenstein Youngblood

In Wolfenstein Youngblood at 4K there is no performance difference, but at 1440p there was.
The Division 2

The Division 2 performs the same between RAGE MODE and default.
Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is the same performance, within the margin of error between RAGE MODE and default.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider there is no difference in performance.
