Cyberpunk 2077 and Grand Theft Auto V
Now we are going to look at game performance. We are going to test at 1080p and 4K with the highest in-game settings. Let’s see if these CPUs make any kind of FPS difference.
Cyberpunk 2077
First, let’s look at 1080p in Cyberpunk 2077 at “Ultra” quality preset. There’s a very slight difference in performance, but it could be attributed to the margin of error for performing a manual run-through. The difference is only 2FPS average. This puts the i5-11600K on top followed by the Ryzen 5 5600X. It seems the i5-11600K is an improvement over the i5-10600K.
At 4K we are GPU bound completely, and the CPU makes no difference.
Grand Theft Auto V
Of course, we had to include Grand Theft Auto V, it wouldn’t be a CPU review without pushing this game to its limits with CPUs. At 1080p here we actually do see some large differences in performance between the CPUs. The last generation i5-10600K falls way behind. The new Intel Core i5-11600K is 10% faster. The i5-11600K and Ryzen 5 5600X are close though.
At 4K the differences are less, but we still see the new i5-11600K pull away from the last generation by a few percent.
