The latest installment of EA and DICE’s hit FPS franchise, Battlefield, will reportedly launch on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one title. This is according to Xbox Era’s Shpeshal Ed, who revealed during a recent podcast that a third-party, triple-A first-person shooter would likely be launching on Microsoft’s popular game subscription service this fall. The speculation is that this title must be Battlefield VI, as Call of Duty 2021 reportedly has an exclusivity deal with PlayStation. Microsoft and EA are also clearly already in bed together, as evidenced by the integration between EA Play and Xbox Game Pass.

“My other bet would be Battlefield 6 because the EA Play relationship already exists,” Clarke explained. “And I’m sure Microsoft are sharing lots and lots of lovely numbers on what it does for a player base when you’ve got 20 million people immediately available to play your game.” […] Back4Blood is also releasing in Fall, but those on the podcast weren’t sure it would qualify as a Triple-A game. That leaves only Battlefield 6.
