The PlayStation community has always prided itself on the amount of titles that are exclusive to Sony consoles, and that’s something that’s unlikely to change for the current hardware generation. Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan made this pretty clear in a recent interview with Tokyo-based financial newspaper Nikkei, confirming that PlayStation would be doubling down and investing even more heavily toward high-quality games that will only be enjoyable on its next-generation PS5 consoles. Ryan also suggested that Sony was keen on acquiring more developers to grow its first-party PlayStation Studios.

“We have been quietly but steadily investing in high-quality games for PlayStation, and we will make sure that the PS5 generation will have more dedicated software than ever before,” Ryan said. “We have repeatedly engaged in mergers and acquisitions, including Insomniac Games in the US. We will not rule out that option in the future.”
