Valve unveiled its new Steam Deck portable on July 15. While the handheld PC has already received a ridiculous amount of coverage from gaming outlets, the company has finally decided to advertise the Steam Deck through its official video channels with the release of a short but sweet trailer.

Valve’s new Steam Deck trailer doesn’t provide any new insight on its upcoming gaming system, but it does do a nice job of breaking down some of the hardware’s biggest selling points for those who are still on the fence.

These include the fact that the Steam Deck is the most powerful gaming handheld in the world. This is largely thanks to Valve’s collaboration with AMD, which provided a custom APU leveraging Zen 2 and RDNA 2 technologies.

The video also points out the Steam Deck’s relatively comprehensive control scheme comprising full-sized thumbsticks, analog triggers, user-assignable buttons, multi-touch display, dual track pads, and gyroscope.

Last but not least, users will find their entire Steam libraries ready to go the second they sign into their accounts with the Steam Deck.

The end of the video points out that the Steam Deck can still be reserved online at a starting price of $399. Unfortunately, current orders aren’t expected to ship until sometime after Q2 2022.

The default Steam Deck experience requires a Steam account (it’s free!). Games are purchased and downloaded using the Steam Store. That said, Steam Deck is a PC so you can install third party software and operating systems.
