MSI MAG Z590 TORPEDO Motherboard System Setup

As we mentioned above, we are using an Intel Core i9-11900K CPU for testing this motherboard and a kit of Crucial Ballistix MAX DDR4 4400MHz CL19 16GB RAM. We are also using a 360mm radiator with the MSI MEG CORELIQUID S360 AIO which also has Intel LGA 1700 support with 12th Gen Intel Core Alder Lake CPUs. And for the first time, we are testing with Windows 11 Pro.

Our testing today is going to compare 3 scenarios on this motherboard to check for integrity and its ability:

  • Intel Core i9-11900K Adaptive Boost 251W
  • Intel Core i9-11900K Adaptive Boost Enabled
  • Intel Core i9-11900K Adaptive Boost Off

This tests the default performance (Off) of the CPU with the Adaptive Boost enabled but limited to the 251W option in the BIOS then to the full Enabled mode which sets no limits on power. This will push the motherboard and VRMs to the max to run the CPU as fast as it can with Adaptive Boost Enabled with no limits on power.
