A description for FFVII Remake Intergrade:

By exploiting mako, the life-blood of the planet, through their mako reactors, the Shinra Electric Power Company has all but seized control of the entire world. A ragtag group of idealists, known as Avalanche, are one of the last bastions of resistance.

Cloud, an elite SOLDIER operative-turned-mercenary takes part in an Avalanche operation to destroy Mako Reactor 1 in the city of Midgar. The bombing plunges the city into fiery chaos, and Cloud is tormented by visions of a bitter enemy long thought dead.

Once more begins a story that will shape the destiny of an entire world. This game is a remake of FINAL FANTASY VII, first released in 1997. The first title in a multi-part series, it is based on the story from the original game, up to the escape from Midgar, adding in new elements.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will presumably be an Epic Games Store exclusive for at least a year. While it seems inevitable, Square Enix hasn’t said anything about a Steam version yet.

  1. It was a good game on the PS4 – not OMG like the original was back in the day, but good.

Not sure it’s $70-to-play-it-again good though.

  2. Also – clocks in at 86G after install on PS4. So 100G with some texture options and such sounds about right

  3. Yeah, I don’t see myself dropping $70 for this. I’ll wait and see what happens around the holidays next year unless something pops up for a good deal during the summer.

  4. From what I hear this is NOT the original game but a reimagining… hitting the same beats but new engine and all.
