Power and Temperature

To test the power and temperature we perform a manual run-through in Cyberpunk 2077 at “Ultra” settings for real-world in-game data.  We use GPU-Z sensor data to record the results.  We report on the GPU-Z sensor data for “Board Power” and “GPU Chip Power” when available for our Wattage data.  For temperature data, we report the GPU (Edge Temp of the GPU) as well as Hot Spot (Junction Temperature) when available for our temperature data.

EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING Video Card Power

The AMD Radeon RX 6800 has the highest GPU Chip Power Draw at 256W, the EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING uses much less GPU power draw at 230W, and when overclocked only rises slightly to 234W. The 6800 XT doesn’t read board power, but for the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING it does. At default board power is 383W and overclocked rises to just 391W, staying under 400W is impressive.

EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING Video Card Temperature

Temperature is where the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING video card really shines. At default, fan speeds the GPU temp is only 55.5c and Hot Spot is 68.1c, while the Radeon RX 6800 XT is blistering hot at 78c GPU and 96c Hot Spot. When we overclocked the EVGA video card we did set the fans to 100%, but that still maintained a really cool GPU temp of 51c and a Hot Spot temp of 63c. This AIO works really well.

To compare temperatures with the Founders Edition video card, our Founders Edition hit 81c on the GPU at default. That’s a huge difference that this AIO is making.
