SiSoftware Sandra
We are now testing in the popular SiSoftware Sandra 2021 version. We are testing the CPU arithmetic section. In this graph above we are looking at Dhrystone integer performance in multi-threading. The new Intel Core i9-12900K is 19% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X in this integer performance test using multi-threading.
In the graph above we are looking at the same test but now run only on a single thread. For this test we chose to use the Performance Core single-thread, rather than the Efficiency Core, to closer match the 5900X’s standard cores. In this scenario, the Performance Core scores 36.8 which is 10% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X in arithmetic performance on the single fastest thread.
In this graph above we are now looking at Multi-Media Whetstone floating-point workloads in multi-threading. For the first time, the 12900K is slower than the 5900X in this particular workload. The 5900X is 14% faster.
We are now doing the same Whetstone test in Multi-Media floating-point but a single-thread, using the Performance Core. Again we find the Ryzen 9 5900X is slightly faster at this particular workload, it’s 4% faster.
