Intel held its 2022 Investor Meeting today, and among the many exciting announcements was some information pertaining to the company’s long-awaited GPUs in its Arc Alchemist series.

According to a writeup on the Intel Newsroom and a tweet from the official Intel Graphics Twitter account, Intel’s first Arc GPUs will begin rolling out this quarter for notebook devices, followed by desktop and workstation models in Q2 and Q3, respectively. Teasing the future, Intel also confirmed that it has already begun work on the architecture behind Celestial, the third generation of the company’s Xe-HPG series that will apparently include “ultra-enthusiast” products—high-performance GPUs that can compete with some of NVIDIA and AMD’s flagship offerings, presumably.

Last but not least is something called “Project Endgame,” which sounds like some sort of game streaming service comparable to existing options such as NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW. It is scheduled to launch in 2022, according to a presentation by Raja Koduri, which can be viewed here.

ACCELERATED COMPUTING SYSTEMS AND GRAPHICS

The Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG) is on track to ship products across its three segments and deliver more than $1 billion in revenue in 2022. As a growth engine for Intel, AXG’s three segments together will approach $10 billion of revenue for Intel by 2026.

  • Visual Compute Roadmap and Strategy
    • Intel Arc Graphics Timing and Roadmap Update – AXG expects to ship more than 4 million discrete GPUs in 2022. OEMs are introducing notebooks with Intel Arc graphics, code-named Alchemist, for sale in the first quarter of 2022. Intel will ship add-in cards for desktops in the second quarter and workstations by the third quarter. Architecture work has begun on Celestial, a product that will address the ultra-enthusiast segment.
    • Project Endgame – Project Endgame will enable users to access Intel Arc GPUs through a service for an always-accessible, low-latency computing experience. Project Endgame will be available later this year.
