Steam Decks and laptops won’t be the only ways in which Steam users will be able to access their games on the road, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk has teased that his company is working toward a similar level of functionality for its range of popular electric vehicles.

Musk was quizzed by IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s availability on Model S and X vehicles earlier this week, which resulted in the surprising revelation that Tesla was working on adding Steam support to its vehicles, allowing occupants to play any game that they own on Valve’s platform when they’re parked or bored while charging. Musk noted that the focus was on Steam rather than specific titles, a welcome idea considering the platform’s popularity and extensive game library.

Musk also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be available to play in Cybertrucks at some point in the future, presumably as part of Tesla’s effort in bringing Steam library support to its vehicles. Introduced last year, the updated Tesla Model S features a new infotainment system with 17-inch, 2200 x 1300 resolution touchscreen, enabling a more immersive experience with maps, games, and more.

Tesla offers an infotainment upgrade for Model S and Model X vehicles that were built in March 2021 or earlier. It costs $2,000 plus applicable tax, including installation, for vehicles equipped with Autopilot Computer 2.0 or 2.5, and $1,500 plus applicable tax, including installation, for all other vehicles.
