If I had a net worth of nearly $8 billion like Gabe Newell, delivering packages to random strangers would be one of the last things on my mind, but that is exactly what happened last week, according to a new promo video shared by Valve.
Gabe was so excited about getting his company’s Steam Deck into the hands of gamers that he literally did just that, hand-delivering the heavily hyped portable to gamers in the Bellevue area while reminiscing about his first job as a newspaper delivery guy. He also made sure that every recipient got his email address (email@example.com) so they could give feedback on the device.
Disappointingly, nobody seems to have bothered asking Gabe when Half-Life 3 is coming out.
1- This was Gabe’s idea. I thought he was nuts.— Kaci Aitchison 🎤 (@KaciAitchison) March 1, 2022
2- But I/we all miss interacting with people/customers so I am so glad we did it!
3- We picked random Q1 reservation holders nearby. To make sure they’d be home, I told them they had to be home to “sign for delivery”. #SteamDeck https://t.co/LaQ7dp1CR5
