The specifications for AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX Series are no longer a secret. According to official press materials leaked by VideoCardz, the new Zen 3-based lineup will comprise five models, a family that’s led by the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX, a monster of a processor with 64 cores, 128 threads, and a base/maximum boost clock of up to 2.7/4.5 GHz. The rest of the SKUs actually feature the same 4.5 GHz maximum boost clock, in addition to a 280-watt TDP just like the current Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000WX Series.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX “Chagall” specifications leaked (VideoCardz)

  • There is no sign of the non-PRO series, and it seems AMD will be focusing on system integrators first.
  • The 5000 series Threadripper is initially coming to Lenovo ThinkStation P620 systems, with others to follow.
  • The press deck does not mention which motherboards are supported, but one would guess these are compatible with existing WRX80 motherboards after a BIOS update.
