Fighting game fans have been waiting at the edge of their seats for the inevitable Tekken 8, and while there’s little indication as to when game director Katsuhiro Harada plans to reveal the eighth installment of the series, players will be able to look forward to more Tekken as early as this year courtesy of Netflix.

Netflix has released a trailer for Tekken: Bloodline, its upcoming anime series based on the popular fighting game franchise. The series focuses on fighter Jin Kazama, who was originally introduced in 1997’s Tekken 3 for the original PlayStation console. The first anime was a two-part series called Tekken: The Motion Picture in 1998 from Studio Deen and directed by Kunihisa Sugishima that adapted Kazuya’s quest for revenge against his father, Heihachi Mishima, who’s known for his funny hair and throwing his son down a volcano.

Tekken: Bloodline’s trailer seems to capture the feeling of the fighting games pretty well, with the camera panning around characters preparing to fight. Netflix subscribers can expect the anime to drop this year.

“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.
