Wouldn’t it be a shame if Mass Effect 4 sucked? Have no fear, as one of the key figures behind the original, critically acclaimed sci-fi trilogy is seemingly working on something similar for fans to fall back on. Humanoid Studios is the name of the studio that Casey Hudson formed after jumping ship from BioWare, and a new update on its website can confirm that his team’s first project involves an “all-new science-fiction universe,” something that should be music to the ears of Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic fans everywhere (Hudson served as the project director for both properties). There are no details on Humanoid’s new title yet, but some of the concept art that’s been posted seems rather Prey-ish in nature.

Your Journey Begins… (Humanoid Studios)

Humanoid Studios was founded on the axiom that creative freedom and independence lead to better, more innovative games. Our vision is based on four fundamental beliefs:

/ The future of entertainment is interactive
/ The most engaging entertainment involves worlds, characters, and storytelling
/ Innovative tools and technologies unlock interactivity that feels magical
/ People do their best creative work when they feel safe and supported

[Our mission is] delivering magical interactive storytelling, by connecting talented creatives to powerful tools, in a safe and supportive environment. Our current project is a multi platform AAA game, focusing on character-driven narrative in an all-new science-fiction universe.

We believe in the power of small, agile teams, and a flat organizational structure, where everyone is empowered to make decisions and help drive the project vision. We hire great people, empower them with the best tools and a supportive environment, and provide them the creative freedom to explore their fullest potential.

Humanoid Studios is a Canadian company with offices in B.C. and Alberta, offering a flexible work environment combining from-home, in-office, and remote work so that developers can work where they feel happiest. We are looking for talented developers who are kind, creative, and self-driven – and are eager to pitch in and help wherever they can add value. If this sounds like you, we invite you to join us in creating a whole new universe of adventure!
