Were you hoping for more Ghost Recon Breakpoint content? Sorry, but it might be time to move on, as Ubisoft has shared a message confirming that the latest installment of its squad-based tactical shooter won’t be getting any more updates beyond the Operation Motherland DLC that dropped last fall, which saw the return of Nomad’s CIA handler from Ghost Recon Wildlands, Karen Bowman. The good news is that Ubisoft plans to keep the servers for both Breakpoint and Wildlands on, so Ghost Recon fans can continue to enjoy taking down baddies in the open worlds of Bolivia and Auroa. Ubisoft’s next installment in the franchise will be Ghost Recon Frontline, a “free-to-play, tactical-action, massive PVP shooter” that can support over 100 players.

An Important Message from the Developers of Ghost Recon Breakpoint (Ghost Recon)

Hey Ghosts, First, we just want to say thank you for all the love and support you have brought to the game.

During the past 2 years, we released more than 11 Updates and supported several unique initiatives. From the Ghost Experience, the return of Al Teammates, Special Operations with Sam Fisher; working with R6 operators in Operation Amber Sky, and lastly our “Plant a Tree project” we have been hard at work to add extra content for Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

The last four months marked the release of our final piece of content: the brand new Operation Motherland mode, tons of new items including 20th anniversary iconic outfits and Quartz items for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. We will continue to maintain our servers for both Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint and we truly hope you will continue to enjoy the game and have fun playing in solo or co-op with your friends.

From the entire Ghost Recon team, we want to thank you again for your continued support and love you have for the franchise. The feedback you’ve given for Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been instrumental and will help shape the future of the franchise.

Until next time, Ghosts.
