SSD Software

To control and configure this SSD ADATA has software called ADATA SSD ToolBox.  This provides information and feature access, as well as firmware update ability.  At the time of testing, we used version 5.00.16 which was the latest version.

The ADATA SSD ToolBox is a very feature-complete piece of software for the ADATA LEGEND 960 SSD. This software has a good amount of functionality that is useful for owning this SSD. There is a simple interface that displays the drive health showing the temperature, drive health status, and remaining lifetime. It even shows the Total Bytes Written to the drive over the lifetime so you can track the health and compare it to the TBW. It also has S.M.A.R.T. and drive details to see if any problems are arising. The ToolBox also has a Diagnostic Scan ability that will check your SSD for errors, such as LBA and sector errors.

Under the Utility menu, you can check for Firmware update with a GUI interface, this is always nice to see as it makes it easy to update firmware. Also under the Utility menu us the Security Erase feature which will clear all data on the SSD securely. There is also a System Optimization menu that lets you run the TRIM command, and also enables some OS optimizations to help speed up SSD performance from an OS level.

The ToolBox also has a Benchmark menu that lets you benchmark your SSD to track over time how its performing, and compare it with other SSDs on the system. Finally, the ToolBox also has a CloneDrive feature, which is very unique. It lets you clone one drive to another on your system with an easy GUI. This is a powerful feature that is just made so simple in the software provided.

CrystalDiskInfo

Installation of the SSD went smoothly, this SSD does not need a special NVMe driver.  It uses the default Windows NVMe driver.  In CrystalDiskInfo we can see information on the SSD below.
