Gameplay Performance with Ray Tracing
F1 2022
F1 gives us a mixed bag, the game toughens up once the Ray Tracing is enabled. That said the PNY GeForce RTX 3050 8G VERTO is victorious without upscaling by 9%. With FSR enabled the RX 6600 is once again the faster card by over 10%.
Dying Light 2
When the Ray Tracing is turned on the results are bleak. The game is unplayable without help and this is with the lowest Ray Tracing settings. With the aid of DLSS the overclocked PNY RTX 3050 VERTO gets close to playable at 55 FPS. The overclocking advantage of 9-10% is maintained. While FSR doubles the FPS on the RX 6600 that is not enough to play the game enjoyably.
FarCry 6
Enabling FarCry 6 DXR brings out beautiful reflections and the game remains playable without upscaling. The Sapphire RX 6600 has the best performance in this game either way. The overclocked PNY RTX 3050 VERTO comes very close once FSR is enabled, the difference being only 2%. Overclocking our card seems to only make a difference when upscaling is enabled.
Cyberpunk 2077
We see how demanding this game becomes once Ray Tracing is enabled. The PNY RTX 3050 VERTO has a win by the slimmest margin until upscaling is added then the tables are turned. Nonetheless, the game is simply unplayable. One should consider we have all the details set to “ultra” and then add Low Ray Tracing. These video cards are simply not capable of these settings.
Watch Dogs Legion
You can take what was just discussed above in Cyberpunk and apply it here, except worse.
As we have said before, Ray Tracing is terrible on an AMD video card in this game.
To play this game on these two video cards, one would have to turn the settings down, considerably.
