BOE Teases World’s First 16-Inch 600 Hz Notebook Display

BOE is working on a number of new technologies, and one of them is a 16-inch notebook display that features a refresh rate of 600 Hz, according to a new report from IT Home that demonstrates some of the innovative new products that were shown off at the recent 2022 World Display Industry Conference.

It seems too early to tell what premium laptops the displays might go into, but the panel uses oxide backplane technology and fast-response LCD technology to bring an extremely smooth operating experience for gaming competitions, as IT Home noted in its report.

BOE also showed off the following at the event:

  • First 17.3-inch ultra-large folding OLED notebook product
  • An 86-inch 4K glass-based active-drive MLED backlight TV
  • 34-inch glass-based Mini LED gaming display

BOE’s first 17.3-inch ultra-large folding OLED notebook product , the screen has a DCI-P3 color gamut of up to 100%, and the body is extremely thin and light. Innovative flexible display products such as folding and “Z” shaped three-fold display.

BOE demonstrated an 86-inch 4K glass-based active-drive MLED backlight TV , which can achieve 1500nits extreme brightness and over 2000 partitions to achieve fine light control. It has been applied to Skyworth’s high-end TVs.

The 34-inch glass-based Mini LED gaming display can achieve a high refresh rate of 165Hz, an extremely fast response of 1ms, and ultra-low latency. It meets HDR1000 certification and brings ultra-fine images with an ultra-high contrast ratio of 100,000:1.

BOE describes itself as a leading IoT company, one that has filed more than 70,000 patent applications to patent offices around the world, over 90% of which are patents for inventions.

ASUS unveiled a new ROG Swift monitor this year that features a 500 Hz refresh rate.
