AMD has launched the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT, its first graphics cards built on the next-generation, high-performance, energy-efficient RDNA 3 architecture.

Critics are claiming that this is another paper launch, with the graphics cards selling out almost immediately at popular retailers such as Newegg, which currently lists over 20 custom models, all out of stock at the time of this posting.

The lack of options include the ASRock AQUA Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX7900XTX AQ 24GO and ASRock Tachi Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Video Card RX7900XTX TC 24GO, which are priced at $1,449.99 and $1,199.99, respectively.

Scalpers appear to have plenty to offer on auction sites that include eBay, but the prices have been described as exorbitant, with models such as PowerColor’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX being listed at the Buy It Now price of $2,699.

Another PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX listing, which has nine bids at the time of this posting, is priced at $7,100.

“Madness, PC gaming is being killed,” cried one user on a highly upvoted thread on r/AMD that claims Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards sold out in less than five minutes.

“I was literally refreshing the fucking AMD page TEN MINUTES before 6AM,” mentioned another.

Radeon RX 7900 Series graphics cards also appear to be missing on AMD’s official shop at the time of this posting.

“Altogether, [their] features and advancements deliver up to a 1.7X performance uplift in select titles at 4K compared to AMD RDNA 2 architecture,” AMD said when it unveiled what it described as the world’s most advanced gaming graphics cards, built on RDNA 3 architecture with chiplet design, in November 2022.

“The new graphics cards also support DisplayPort 2.1 displays capable of delivering ultra-high framerates and stunning visuals at up to 4K 480Hz and 8K 165Hz refresh rates,” AMD added.
