The Resident Evil 4 (Remake) PC requirements have been revealed ahead of its March 23 release. Capcom has indicated that the recommended requirements are for a target resolution of 1080p at 60 FPS and has included recommended hardware for ray tracing while the minimum requirements are for 1080p/45 FPS. It appears (not confirmed) that Capcom has chosen to stick with not supporting DLSS for this next remake but would likely be continuing to support FSR as it recently has done for the last several Resident Evil titles on PC.

Typically Capcom’s RE Engine has been to be very scalable across a wide range of hardware so it should be expected that these requirements do accurately reflect the minimums but also that there will be settings capable of utilizing the full potential of even the most powerful graphics cards currently available. The install size was not included but the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes have averaged ~24 GB and Resident Evil Village weighed in at ~36 GB so it’s probable this remake could be around the same size as those.

The story for Resident Evil 4 (Remake) picks up six years following the events of Raccoon City with Agent Leon S. Kennedy now taking on a mission to rescue the kidnapped daughter of the president. In a similar vein to Resident Evil Village, Leon’s quest takes him to a secluded European village where he’ll encounter a new swath of monsters. There will be a base version ($59.99) of the game as well as a deluxe version ($69.99) that features DLC and exclusive treasures.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
