The debate over whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the true GOAT rages on, but the latter can now say that he’s the first to have inspired officially licensed PS5 accessories. PlayStation announced today that it has partnered with James to develop new limited-edition PS5 accessories, which include a limited-edition PS5 console cover and DualSense wireless controller that was designed in collaboration with the PlayStation Playmaker, sports icon, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and part-time God of War. James became the NBA’s all-time scoring leader with 38,390 career points in February, dethroning Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had been holding the record since April 1984.
“It’s still crazy to think a kid from Akron who grew up playing games is getting to create something like this,” James said in a statement. “Designing a console cover and controller with PlayStation that gives a nod to my I Promise students and where we come from is a pretty cool thing. I hope it’s something that continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they have a little fun finding meaning in every detail.”
