GIGABYTE Z690 GAMING X Test Setup.

Unfortunately, the Core i9 12900K we used for testing isn’t much of an overclocker. To that end, we have run the benchmarks on default Intel power limits of 241w and the motherboard defaults which are controlled by the motherboard’s automatic settings. The latter of which is how most motherboards operate out of the box.

SUMMARY

The GIGABYTE Z690 GAMING X DDR4 has a solid feature set for the money. The layout is bar none the best I've seen in years. Performance generally exceeds expectations but I did experience some issues with DPC latency testing. Lastly, value is certainly there as it's cheaper than a lot of offerings out there offering similar features and performance.

If I was going all in on 12th gen I'd do this. That board packs a lot of power for the value. Sure, $277 is still a little up there but compared to the premium, and what you're getting, it's a great value.

I thought about a Gaming X board a while back as it did indeed pack a lot into a cheaper price, but boy have those prices gone up. Just like everything else.
