Gameplay Performance at 1080p with Ray Tracing
For this section, we enable Ray Tracing in the game. All the settings otherwise remain unchanged, 1080p with all the dials turned up as high as they go. DLSS and FSR are once again utilized where it is suitable and supported by the game.
Chernobylite
Well, you can try and make this as painless as possible…..but the AMD video cards, regardless of generation, just don’t have the stuff in this new game if you enable Ray Tracing. Ouch, beat down by 53FPS. That’s more than all three can generate. Oh my.
F1 2022
This game is reasonably playable without upscaling. Our SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 7600 in the overclocked state does take the win by 4% and 10%. At stock, it falls behind the RTX 3060 until FSR is enabled. The SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 7600 is 40% faster than the RX 6600.
Dying Light 2
This game is demanding until you enable FSR. None of the cards can run it without upscaling. Our SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 7600 is out 12%. It is playable in FSR but still behind the RTX 3060 by 3% in FSR. This is a 40% improvement from the last generation.
Far Cry 6
Here we see that DX Ray Tracing is a little kinder to the frame rates. Again, in this game, the performance is fast before upscaling. Our stock SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 7600 is 6% faster than the RTX 3060, but essentially even in FSR. The stock card is 34% quicker than the last generation RX 6600!!
Cyberpunk 2077
There are a bunch of sore backsides here. Not a single card can muster more than 30FPS until the upscaling is added. Even then the RTX 3060 is the lone survivor, but still not playable at “ULTRA”. This game is so tough, you’d simply have to dial down the Ray Tracing or up the level in upscaling to “performance” or “ultraperformance”. (unfortunately at this resolution the image quality suffers….a lot…. if you do that) This is not the game for Ray Tracing for these cards.
Watch Dogs Legion
This is another game with brutal Ray Tracing demands. Nobody has the “stuff” here. The RX 6600 can’t even get out of the blocks…it simply crashes. The RTX 3060 has the upper hand by 21% and 50%.
