Gaming Performance Continued – Ryzen 5 7600
We are going to focus on the 4K, 1440p, and 1080p gameplay performance. The common GPU used for every CPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition video card. Each graph has all three resolutions on each CPU included, but the order and sorting do not change in each graph. You can look at the framerate between CPUs at each resolution. Games are in order from most recent, to least recent.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine. The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS, and FSR2. We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing. We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute. We use the built-in benchmark.
Dying Light 2 is graphically intense, and at 4K we see this realized with no difference between the CPUs, as the game is GPU dependent. However, at 1440p we start to see some separation between the CPUs. The Ryzen 5 7600 is 4% behind the Ryzen 5 7600X, so the Ryzen 5 7600X does pull ahead slightly even at 1440p. At 1080p the difference is about 3% between the CPUs, still a clear separation, albeit small, but it is there.
Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6 was released in October of 2021 and uses the Dunia Engine. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We have the HD Texture pack installed and turned on. We utilize the “Ultra” graphics preset which sets all options to the highest game settings. This game supports FSR upscaling.
Far Cry 6 is sensitive to CPU performance, but at 4K we don’t see any difference really between the CPUs. However at 1440p, the Ryzen 5 7600 is 3% behind the Ryzen 5 7600X, and at 1080p it is 2% behind the Ryzen 5 7600X.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December of 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 1.61 and utilize the built-in benchmark. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings, mainly “Ultra”. This game supports DLSS and FSR2.
We all know Cyberpunk 2077 is graphically demanding, and this plays out at 4K and 1440p. However, at 1080p the Ryzen 5 7600 is 3% behind the Ryzen 5 7600X.
