Has NVIDIA forgotten about its older GeForce RTX 30 Series? Definitely not, according to new rumors that have been shared online today, which claim that NVIDIA will be releasing a new variant of the GeForce RTX 3050 in 2024 that features lower specs than the existing models. This version of the graphics card will supposedly feature a different GPU (GA107-325), a 1470 MHz boost clock, a 70-watt TGP, and 6 GB of memory on a 96-bit bus. Some are speculating that NVIDIA is doing this to get rid of older stock ahead of the release of the GeForce RTX 4050, which was previously rumored to release in June.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Comparison

  • GeForce RTX 3050 8 GB: GA106-150 / 2,560 Cores / 1,777 MHz Boost / 115 W TGP / 8 GB 128-bit
  • GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB (New): GA107-325 / Cores (TBD) / 1,470 MHz Boost / 70 W TGP / 6 GB 96-bit

…the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB graphics card is expected to hit production in January 2024 with a launch following later. Once again there’s no word on the RTX 4050 but with the upcoming launch of the Intel Arc A580 which is positioned against the RTX 3050 & RX 6600, it looks like NVIDIA may have prepped this as a direct competitor to the new Alchemist offering.
