The NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER only just launched this month and it appears that some inventory is already disappearing from online retailers. As spotted by VideoCardz, those seeking to get NVIDIA’s flagship GPU in the RTX 40 SUPER series are out of luck, that is, unless they are fortunate enough to able to source one at a physical retail store such as Best Buy or MicroCenter.

A quick search on Newegg shows that the closest MSRP NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER model is the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Trinity OC White Edition, at $50 more for $1,049.99, and it’s on backorder with an in-stock ETA of February 13. Meanwhile, anyone interested in still being able to have at least some of the same performance found in the AD103 GPU that is used in the RTX 4080 SUPER, may want to consider the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER that, at least for now, is still available at its $799 MSRP on Amazon and NewEgg. Certain models of the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER can still be had at its $599 MSRP as well.

Be on the lookout next week for restocked inventory

There are numerous RTX 40 SUPER series graphics cards listed on Newegg as on backorder, with an in-stock ETA of February 13, so it seems there could be a shipment coming in next week. It’s possible that the MSRP NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER models may be among them but given the demand for NVIDIA’s flagship GPUs, potential buyers will have to be quick to snag them before they become out of stock or are snatched by scalpers. Sadly stories about the desperate measures that scalpers are willing to go through to make a quick buck continue to appear with the GeForce RTX 4090 (still MIA at MSRP in North America for months now) and the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is sure to be no exception to this practice.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
