Those looking for a blower-style version of a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER are in luck as MSI quietly launched its AERO model on Newegg. MSI hasn’t released many consumer graphics cards for its AERO family in North America in recent years. One of the last was in 2020 with its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 AERO, and before that with the RTX 2080 SUPER AERO. MSI has, however, continued to offer various models in Asia and other markets that are geared toward AI, and similar data-focused, applications. Given that Newegg has a bit more access to overseas suppliers it shouldn’t come as a surprise that MSI has quietly launched its latest product there.

As can be seen by the product images the RTX 4070 Ti AERO utilizes a similar design as its AERO predecessors. Occupying only two PCI slots makes it a bit of a rare commodity in the consumer GPU sector especially when taking into consideration that it uses a cutdown AD103 processor, the same found in the RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 SUPER along with similar 16 GB GDDR6X memory. That combined with its blower design which externally vents air from inside the case, presents some interesting possibilities for PC owners be they gamers or those looking to use it for productivity purposes. The card retains the normal 3x DP 1.4a and 1x HDMI 2.1 ports found on other models.

The downside is that MSI has priced it at $100 higher than MSRP at $899 but that is still often far lower than the price of the RTX 4080 SUPER where partner versions can commonly go for up to $1199 or more.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
