The console versions (e.g., PS5 and Xbox Series X) of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom’s upcoming fantasy action RPG, will launch with an “uncapped framerate” option that will deliver frame rates “at around or higher than 30 FPS.” Hideaki Itsuno, director of Dragon’s Dogma 2, shared the news this week with Game Informer, implying that this frame rate target was applicable to the PC version as well and how the console versions would only have a single graphics mode (read: no Graphics/Performance mode).
Itsuno confirmed:
- “The game has an uncapped framerate. We’re aiming to go at around or higher than 30 FPS. That is for consoles as well.”
- “There are some functions that you can turn on and off, but there aren’t multiple sets of options that you can change at once [likely alluding to visual presets seen in the options of other games on consoles today].”
- “But yeah, the frame rate will come uncapped for all consoles.”
Itsuno teasing an uncapped framerate back in February:
