The Batman 2, a sequel to the 2022 superhero film from Matt Reeves that saw Robert Pattinson step into the cowl and boots of the iconic character, is now set for release on October 2, 2026, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced. This marks a year-long delay for the movie, which was originally scheduled for release on October 3, 2025.
New/revised dates for WB movies:
- The Batman 2: October 2, 2026
- The Bride! (Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal): October 3, 2025
- Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film (Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn): August 8, 2025
- Alto Knights (Robert De Niro, Cosmo Jarvis): March 21, 2025
Deadline noted:
We hear the new date is due to the aftermath of the dual strikes. … The spacing will also give some distance from James Gunn’s Superman movie which is hitting cinemas on July 11, 2025. That film will kick off Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios, the first phase entitled “Gods and Monsters.”
