Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first official teaser trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, following up on yesterday’s first look with over a minute of footage that can confirm Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel will be taking audiences back to Winter Haven—the idyllic town in Connecticut where Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis’ characters met up with Michael Keaton’s titular bio-exorcist for the first time in an attempt to drive the Deetz family out of their home after their fatal accident. Keaton, who some fans say look pretty much exactly like he did back in the 1988 film, can be seen returning from the Afterlife at the end of the trailer, rising up from the original town replica in the house attic—much to the dismay of Winona Ryder’s Lydia, who is joined by her daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega) and mother Delia in the new film following an “unexpected family tragedy.”

Release details:

  • Theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2024 nationwide
  • Internationally beginning September 4, 2024

Synopsis and teaser:

Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
